First in Flight Boards – Cherry
Named in honor of the first controlled and sustained aircraft flight that took place on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk in the Outer Banks. On this day, Orville and Wilber Wright achieved what so many before them had failed to do. The topography and prevailing winds of the coastal area made it the perfect place to see their dreams take flight.
